Single-Stage Implant One of the latest advances in dental implantology is the use of single-stage implants that eliminate the need to perform a second procedure to expose the implants. In this case the missing upper first bicuspid (Fig. 1) was replaced by a single-stage implant. Then, a crown or cap was placed on the tooth two months after implant placement (Fig. 2 & Fig. 3).
