Connective Tissue Graft to Cover Gum Recession A variety of periodontal plastic surgical procedures are available to manage gum recession and/or areas that lack "tough gum." In this example a connective tissue graft was used to cover an area of significant recession and lack of "tough gum" tissue. This procedure is painlessly performed using minimally invasive surgical techniques under local anesthesia with little postoperative discomfort.
